Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has made a significant contribution to Hasaacas Ladies Football Club by donating $10,000 as the team prepares for the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifiers.

This financial assistance arrives at a crucial juncture, with the tournament scheduled to take place from August 10 to August 23, 2024, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The donation was presented by Tamimu Issah, the Head of Communications at the Office of the Vice President, on behalf of Vice President Bawumia.

Issah highlighted the importance of this support, stating, “This contribution is expected to significantly aid Hasaacas Ladies in their preparation and boost their morale as they aim to secure a spot in the 2024/25 CAF Women’s Champions League.”

Hasaacas Ladies will compete in Group B against formidable opponents, including Nigeria’s Edo Queens, Burkina Faso’s Omnisports Etincelle, and Niger’s AS Garde National.

The Sekondi-based team, which reached the finals of the inaugural CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021, is determined to make a strong return in this year’s tournament.
