Former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda has unveiled his Team of the Season for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign, with champions Medeama SC dominating the selection.

The newly crowned league champions had three representatives in the team, with Fatawu Sulemana, Fuzy Taylor and Salim Adams all earning places after playing key roles in Medeama’s title-winning season. Salim Adams, who scored 11 goals during the campaign, is also being tipped by many as a leading contender for the league’s Most Valuable Player award.

FC Samartex shot-stopper Zakari Musah was selected in goal following another impressive season with 17 clean sheets to his name, while Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey and Asante Kotoko’s Samba O’Neil were the only players from the two traditional giants to make the team.

Other standout performers recognised by Dauda include Heart of Lions midfielder Etse Dogli, Dreams FC’s Ebenezer Adade and Prince Tweneboah, all of whom enjoyed strong individual campaigns for their respective clubs.

The attacking department features the league’s top scorer Samuel Attah Kumi, who finished the season with 18 goals, alongside Young Apostles forward Richmond Opoku, who ended the campaign as the third-highest scorer with 15 goals.

Perhaps the biggest surprise in Dauda’s selection is the omission of second-highest scorer Augustine Okrah. Despite netting 17 goals during the season and finishing just one behind Attah Kumi in the scoring chart, the experienced forward failed to make the former AshantiGold and Orlando Pirates goalie’s list, a decision that is already generating debate among Ghana Premier League followers.
