Angola coach, Pedro Gonçalves has said he is hoping for a fair encounter against Ghana.
The Palancas Negras will clash with the Black Stars in the matchday one game of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Reflecting on previous encounters with the four-time African champions, Goncalves said he is expecting a fair game but also cautioned that he expects the continent’s football governing body to keep an eye on the game.
“Both games in the last qualifiers were very balanced so I guess we have our chances this time and I hope we will have a good game in Kumasi because the last time, a lot of things happened so I hope CAF open their eyes because a lot happened and Ghana doesn’t need to be in that situation so I am hoping for a fair match and in the end, we will see who’s going to win,” he told Ghanasportspage.
The game has been scheduled for September 2. Meanwhile, Angola are in Group F with Niger and Sudan.
Meanwhile, the return leg between Angola and Ghana have scheduled for November 11 Luanda.
