
Karela United will be hoping to bounce back from their opening day defeat to FC Samartex when they host Bechem United on matchday 2 of the 2026/27 campaign at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale.The Tamale-based club started the season with a 3-1 loss in Samreboi while their visitors arrive in Tamale after a 1-0 victory Bibiani GoldStars.Although the season is just a week old, both teams are poised for a good campaign following a busy transfer window.Yussif Junior and Kwaku Musah were some of the new arrivals at Karela during the window, and are expected to feature prominently for the Northerners this season.For Bechem United, Francis Acquah walked straight into the team after his return to the club. Also among the newcomers is Dennis Modzaka.Karela United and Bechem United have met 12 times in the Ghana Premier League, with the Hunters edging their hosts. The former FA Cup winners have won five games and lost three to Karela United. Four matches have ended in a draw.Prince Opoku-Agyemang and Mohammed Alhassan Mankuyeli are expected to lead the attack for the home side but face strong opposition in Bechem United’s backline.Meanwhile, Kofi Tompuo and veteran forward Augustine Okrah remain the main threat for the Hunters.
