Medeama have opened up a three-point lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League after cruising to a convincing 3-1 victory over Heart of Lions at the TnA Stadium on Sunday.Emmanuel Annor set the champions on their way with the opening goal in the 27th minute before Kingsley Braye struck twice in the space of a minute to put the Mauve and Yellow firmly in control and extend their impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign.Annor, the former Nations FC winger, broke the deadlock to give Medeama a deserved advantage heading into the second half. Braye then took centre stage, finding the net in the 64th and 65th minutes to leave the visitors with a mountain to climb.Kofi Mawutodzi Agbadji pulled one back for Heart of Lions, but his effort proved little more than a consolation as Medeama comfortably saw out the contest to claim another important three points. The victory takes Medeama to 14 points after six matches, giving them a three-point cushion over second-placed Hearts of Oak, who have accumulated 11 points as the champions continue their bid to defend the league title.Heart of Lions, meanwhile, remain on eight points and sit 12th in the standings after suffering their second defeat of the season.
