Canada produced a dominant display to annihilate Qatar by 6-0 in their second Group B match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at BC Place.
The hosts were in devastating form from start to finish, overwhelming the Asian side to record their biggest win of the tournament so far.
Jonathan David was the star of the show, netting a superb hat-trick to lead Canada’s attacking charge in front of their home supporters.
Cyle Larin continued his impressive tournament form by adding another goal, while Nathan-Dylan Saliba and Mohamed Almanai also found the back of the net to complete the rout.
Qatar’s task became increasingly difficult as discipline issues hampered their efforts, with Homam Al-Amin and Assim Madibo both shown red cards, forcing the visitors to finish the match with nine men.
The numerical advantage allowed Canada to take complete control of proceedings as they repeatedly carved open the Qatari defence.
The emphatic victory moves Canada onto four points from two matches and puts them in a strong position heading into the final round of Group B fixtures.
Canada will conclude their group campaign against Switzerland on June 24, while Qatar face Bosnia and Herzegovina on the same day as both sides battle for a place in the knockout stage.
