The United States of America have advanced to the round of 16 with a 2-0 victory over Bosnia in their 2026 FIFA World Cup round of 32 match at Levi’s Stadium.
AS Monaco striker Folarin Balogun, opened the scoring in the 45th minute, netting his third goal of the tournament. However, he was sent off later in the 64th minute following a nasty tackle, leaving the USA to play with ten men for the remainder of the game.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, the Americans showed great character and maintained control of the match. Malik Tilman, the Leverkusen midfielder, sealed the win with a well-taken goal eight minutes from full time.
The result sees the USA progress to the round of 16 where they will face Belgium on Tuesday, July 7. The victory was a testament to their resilience and squad depth as they overcame the early sending off to secure a place in the next round.
