24th VGMA:God rewards hard work – Okraku-Mantey on Black Sherif winning ‘Artiste of the year’

The 24th edition of the most prestigious music event in Ghana, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was held  at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday,May 6,2023.

The night began with Gospel All-Star, led by Piesie Esther, who put on a captivating performance featuring Celestine Donkor, MOG Music, and Ohemaa Mercy.

The event went deep into the next day, on which the main award was given.

Potential Grammy award-winner, Black Sherif cemented his King Blacko title after being crowned ‘Artiste of the Year’ on the night

He beat stiff competition from Piesie Esther,Camidoh, Sarkodie, King Promise, KiDi and Joe Mettle.

However, the Deputy Minister of Tourism,Culture and CreativeArts Mr Okraku-Mantey before announcing the artist of the year said God rewards hard Work.

 “ladies and gentlemen God rewards hard work.” He said.
