A film showcasing Beyoncé‘s Renaissance World Tour is set to premiere in North American theaters on December 1, according to an announcement by AMC Theatres on Monday.
The theater chain is taking the unique approach of releasing the film independently, without any studio involvement.
Ticket prices for the film will begin at $22, and it has been reported that the singer will receive a minimum of 50% of the ticket sales.
The film provides an in-depth look at the 39-city Renaissance tour, which recently concluded after a five-month run that commenced in Stockholm, Sweden, and concluded in Kansas City, United States.
The tour, following her Grammy-winning album Renaissance in 2022, weaves together concert footage and captivating visuals to follow the journey of the tour.
Over the five-month period, approximately 2.7 million concertgoers attended the tour, generating nearly $500 million in revenue, as reported by Billboard.
The film’s description states, ‘It delves into Beyoncé’s intent, dedication, involvement in every aspect of production, her boundless creativity, and her commitment to crafting her legacy and mastering her art.’
Beyoncé’s previous cinematic ventures include the 2019 Netflix film ‘Homecoming,’ which centered on her iconic Coachella performance in 2018.”
