German-born Ghanaian forward Aaron Opoku found the net in FC Kaiserslautern’s thrilling 4-3 loss to Hertha BSC in a Bundesliga 2 clash on Saturday afternoon.
The match, held at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion, saw both teams exchange goals in an intense encounter.
Aaron Opoku, who started the game and played 72 minutes, put Kaiserslautern ahead just before halftime with a well-placed left-footed shot from the left side of the box. Aaron Opoku’s goal, assisted by Daniel Hanslik, made it 2-1 for Kaiserslautern at the break.
Hertha BSC equalized shortly after the restart through Derry Scherhant, and Luca Schuler added another to put the visitors ahead. Aaron Opoku then turned provider, assisting Boris Tomiak’s 68th-minute equalizer. However, Hertha BSC secured the win with Michaël Cuisance’s 79th-minute strike.
Despite more possession for Hertha BSC, Kaiserslautern had more shots but couldn’t secure the points. They now focus on their upcoming friendly against VfB Stuttgart on September 5th.
