Abass Adamu Giwa has been officially installed as the Adantemhene of the Akuapem Traditional Area.
In his inaugural speech, he called for peace and urged the community to work together to maintain harmony in the region.
Giwa, who is originally from the Dagomba ethnic group but has lived in both Accra and Akuapem for many years, expressed his gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him by Osiadieyie Nana Akufu II.
He emphasized his commitment to serving Akuapeman and the importance of peace, especially in the lead-up to the December elections.
“We need peace whether you are NDC or NPP,” he stated, urging all residents to respect electoral laws.
Giwa also reassured the community that he would continue to work towards the development of the area, citing his previous efforts in restoring Nanakroom.
He called on the youth to join him in promoting peace and raising the Akuapem flag high.
“The Abass you heard about is a new Abass,” he remarked, urging everyone to support his peace agenda.
On his part, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, Paramount Chief of Akuapem Traditional Area, expressed confidence in Giwa and indicated his commitment to see to it that Giwa succeeds in his new position.
Residents have commended Giwa for his contributions to the community, and his new role as Adantemhene is seen as a significant step towards sustaining the peace in Akuapem.
