I have so many good memories from my time here in Vallecas. I’ve met wonderful people. I’ve forged friendships that I know will last a lifetime.”Mumin joined Rayo Vallecano from Vitoria Guimares in 2022 and quickly became a fan favourite. His physical style, defensive reliability, and commitment to the cause made him a key figure in the club’s La Liga campaigns.”From the very first day, I felt at home. I never felt out of place,” he reflected. “I only wish I could have been more.”The Ghana international also paid tribute to the club’s unsung heroes, acknowledging the staff who work behind the scenes.”I also want to thank the people we don’t always see, but who make this club what it is. To the workers, the staff, the kit managers, the cooks, the cleaners: thank you for the affection, for getting up early, for the advice, and for treating me like a member of the family. You are the soul of Rayo.”Mumin spoke about the unique bond between the club and its community, describing what it means to represent a neighbourhood.”You taught me what it means to play for a badge that represents a neighbourhood. For pride. For family. For the people who give it their all. Suffering for something is loving it!”The defender’s departure is a significant loss for Rayo Vallecano, who will now need to find a replacement for one of their most reliable defenders.Mumin is currently in talks to join Girona on a free transfer. The 28-year-old, who has been a free agent since his contract expired, has attracted interest from several clubs, with Girona now leading the race for his signature.”Once you’re a rayista, you’re a rayista forever,” Mumin concluded. “Thank you for everything. I’ll always carry you with me.”For the Ghanaian defender, a new chapter awaits. But Vallecas will always hold a special place in his heart.
