Accra is set to host the 15th African Arm-wrestling Championship on May 1 and 2, 2026, at the Borteyman Sports Complex. The two-day event will bring together top arm-wrestlers from across the continent in what promises to be a highly competitive championship.
Ahead of the competition, a congress will be held to deliberate on key matters concerning the sport, including the expected re-election of Charles Osei Asibey as president of the continental governing body.
Advance teams from several countries, including Benin, Cameroon, Eswatini, Kenya, Niger, Nigeria, and South Africa, have already arrived in Accra, with participation expected from 21 nations.
The Ghana Armwrestling Federation has expressed appreciation to its partners, including the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, the Ghana Olympic Committee, the National Sports Authority, and other corporate sponsors, for their support in staging the event.
