Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has announced the relocation of the Terminal 3 car park at the Accra International Airport as part of plans to construct a seven-storey multi-purpose car park and airport hotel complex.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, July 16, GACL said the existing Terminal 3 car park will be permanently closed to both stakeholders and the general public effective Monday, July 20, 2026.
According to the company, the closure is necessary to pave the way for the development of the new infrastructure, which is expected to enhance parking capacity and improve facilities at the airport.
To minimise inconvenience to airport users during the construction period, GACL has developed a Terminal 3 Car Park Annex with the capacity to accommodate more than 600 vehicles.

The company noted that the annex will serve as the temporary parking area for the general public, adding that parking attendants will be stationed at the facility to assist motorists and direct traffic in and out of the new car park.
GACL also appealed to airport users, stakeholders and visitors for their patience and cooperation throughout the transition period.
The company said the project forms part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance the overall passenger experience at the Accra International Airport.
“ To ensure continued parking availability, GACL has constructed the Terminal 3 Car Park Annex, which has a capacity of 600+ vehicles and will serve the general public during this period. Parking attendants will be on hand to direct all airport users in and out of the new Car Park,” the statement read.
