Renowned Ghanaian content creator and popular YouTube personality, Kwadwo Sheldon says his experience when he visited Achimota Retail Centre, popularly known as Achimota Mall, was exceptional and would be hard to forget.

“The value proposition here (at Achimota Retail Centre) is simply unbelievable……and I can say that it is not matched by any of the shopping centres I have visited in Accra”, Sheldon said in an interview after an exciting two-hour shopping stint at the mall.

Kwadwo Sheldon said he had never experienced so much ‘superior customer care’ as it was displayed to him as he pranced from one shop to another, buying a few fancy items, checking on prices, and interacting with shop attendants at Achimota Retail Centre last Saturday.

“Every shop had its own special friendly way of receiving customers…..and they gave you that even when you wouldn’t buy anything. I don’t think it had anything to do with me Kwadwo Sheldon at all, because while I was in those shops, other people strolled in and received the same warm and hospitable handling from the attendants and shop supervisors. I was touched by that,” the YouTube icon said at the end of his tour of the Centre.

“The prices are so cool and competitive compared to other shopping malls. Even heavy-duty items like fridges and washing machines of the same brand cost much less at this mall than I find in shops elsewhere.

Look, I bought a top-grade air pod from Telefonika and a pair of sportswear from LC Waikiki and I was shocked to realise that they cost far less than how much I paid for the very same items at another mall I visited earlier. In addition, many of the shops here readily offer deals and discounts for their customers,” Sheldon said.

According to Sheldon, three observations about Achimota Mall that caught his fancy are the ‘highly competitive prizes’ of goods on offer, the exceptionally capacious and secured car park, and the fact that ARC seemed to be designed in such a way that no matter the volume of human traffic, the shops and walkways never seem to be overcrowded.

“I am also fascinated by the layout of their food court. There are so many varieties of food vendors; they are all very tidy and are manned by friendly staff. I visited quite a number of them…I ate at Basilissa and, I love Jollof rice so I bought myself a meal of Jollof at one of the food stores,” said an excited Sheldon.

The twenty-nine-year-old Kwadwo Sheldon, who, in 2020 and 2021 was featured among Avance Media’s ‘50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians’ for his work in media, was the first on a guest list of three seasoned personalities billed for visits to the Achimota Retail Centre. The accomplished Skit Comedian SDK Dele and Radio and TV personality, A.J. Sarpong (Nana Adjoa Akuoko-Sarpong), will visit the Centre on September 14 and 28 respectively.

Achimota Retail Centre is Accra’s most popular open mall, with one of the capital’s most secured and spacious parking lots with a capacity for 585 cars, of which 250 slots are undercover in its basement.

The mall is home to a wide range of international and Ghanaian brands, with offerings in different retail categories, including fashion and clothing, electronics, grocery, health and wellness, banking, a children’s games arcade, and a range of alluring delicatessen and eateries.

The Centre is located at Dome, off the Accra-Nsawam highway. It provides modern, retail shopping services and quality recreation to catchment communities like Achimota, Dome, Tantra Hills, Taifa, Kwabenya, Ashongman, and the entire north-eastern quarter of the capital.
