Aduana Football Club have officially announced the funeral arrangements for their late player, Dominic Frimpong, following his tragic death earlier this month.

In a press statement released on Sunday, the club confirmed that the final funeral rites for the 20-year-old will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Assin Dansame, where family members, teammates, and figures from the football community are expected to gather to pay their last respects.

Frimpong lost his life after an attack by armed men while Berekum Chelsea were returning to Berekum after their Ghana Premier League fixture against FC Samartex. He was reportedly shot in the head and later pronounced dead at the Bibiani Government Hospital. Other players involved in the incident sustained minor injuries.

The club disclosed that the family of the deceased has formally informed Aduana FC and other key stakeholders, including Dr. Agyemang Badu II, the Osagyefo Oseadeeyo, ahead of the burial ceremony.

As part of its support to the bereaved family, Aduana FC stated that all outstanding financial obligations owed to the player, including unpaid monthly salaries, will be paid directly to his relatives.

The club also assured that it is collaborating closely with the family to ensure Dominic Frimpong receives a dignified burial, with all funeral expenses to be fully covered by Aduana FC.

In the statement signed by Corporate Affairs and External Relations Manager Evans Oppong, the club invited the wider football fraternity and the general public to join in mourning the late player while celebrating his life and contribution to the game.

May Dominic Frimpong continue to rest in perfect peace, the statement concluded.
