Aduana Stars have been slapped with a fine of GHc20,000 by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee following their violent attacks on Tamale City a couple of weeks ago.
The league leaders in a match which they won after a stoppage-time goal reportedly attacked the team bus of their opponents Tamale City through their fans after the game which eventually resulted in a ban on Aduana Stars’ home stadium.
The Ogya lads began serving their ban with a win over Great Olympics at the Dr. Kyei Sports Complex and are preparing for their clash against Kotoko on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
However, the disciplinary committee of the GFA after further investigation have decided to slap a fine from which 50% will be used to compensate the victims, Tamale City who had their bus damaged after the incident.
“The GFA Disciplinary Committee has imposed a fine of GHc20,000 on Aduana FC after being found guilty of misconduct in their betPawa Premier League Matchweek 25 against Tamale City FC at the Nana Agyeman Badu park.
“According to the decision, an amount of GHc10,000 will be paid to Tamale City FC for the repair of the Club’s bus which was damaged as a result of the conduct of some supporters of Aduana FC.
“A one-match ban had also been placed on Aduana FC by the Disciplinary Committee which is deemed to have been served by the Club on Matchday 26.
“The Club and its supporters have been warned that future misconduct shall receive a more severe punishment,” an official statement released by the GFA said on Saturday.
