Nana Kwame Akuoko Sarpong, the Paramount Chief of the Agogo Traditional Area, has officially endorsed the Bawumia-Opoku-Prempeh ticket for the 2024 general elections.
His endorsement comes with a pledge of support for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and his running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as NAPO.
During a courtesy call by Dr Opoku Prempeh to the chief’s palace on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, as part of his campaign tour in the Asante Akyem North constituency, Nana Akuoko Sarpong expressed his long-standing relationship with NAPO and extended his support for the ticket.
“This palace belongs to you as well. Thank you for honouring us with your visit; you are not new to us—you are my nephew.
We are one people and manage the town together,” the chief said.
He also supported any infrastructural developments that NAPO and the NPP may pursue. “On behalf of my people, I support any infrastructural developments deemed fit for our town.
I give you my blessings and pray to God to help you in your endeavour,” Nana Akuoko Sarpong added.
