Lawyer for former fetish priestess turned evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa or Evangelist Mama Pat, has dismissed viral reports claiming that her church, Heaven Way Church, located at Weija, is facing closure or demolition.

Speaking exclusively to Ghana Weekend on Tuesday,August 5, 2025,Richard Asare Baffour described the claims as entirely baseless and urged the public to disregard them.

“Our attention has been drawn to a social media publication that Mama Pat’s church is about to be closed down. That story is completely false. It has no bearing,” he stated.

According to him, although the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) did invite Nana Agradaa, the matter had absolutely nothing to do with the operations or structure of the church.

“Yes, we received an invitation from EOCO, but it had nothing to do with the church. It was about a former employee who was aggrieved and lodged a complaint. We attended the meeting and provided all the necessary information,” he clarified.

Mr. Baffour explained that the disgruntled ex-staff member made several unsubstantiated allegations, but the legal team has cooperated fully with the authorities and there is no case against the church.

He stressed that the public should treat the demolition rumours as fake news, saying, “We encourage the public to completely disregard the story in circulation. It has no merit.”

The Heaven Way Church has recently been the subject of intense public scrutiny, but this latest development, according to her lawyer, is nothing more than misinformation.

Nana Agradaa is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence after being found guilty of defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic advertisement.
