Right to Dream Academy paid a courtesy call to former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu at his residence to appreciate his contribution to Ghana football and sought advice for future endeavours.
In his Black Stars jersey, the former Udinese midfielder received the students of the football academy alongside the staff as they engaged in a series of activities.
Agyemang Badu dined with the team as they engaged in conversions as well as fun activities that had many of the players dancing with the former Black Stars player.
He was presented with a signed jersey from Right to Dream and a plaque with the inscription “With our greatest appreciation we hereby honour Mr Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu for being an inspirational role model to the youth in football and education. Thank you for spending time with u. It really inspired and motivated us to pursue excellence in all we do.”
“The students and staff appreciate your time and effort. Thank you.”
Agyemang Badu started his professional career at Berekum Arsenal and rose through the ranks to feature in the Italian Serie A where he played 193 appearances for Udinese Calcio.
The 32-year-old is remembered for his famous last penalty kick that won Ghana and Africa their first and only U-20 World Cup trophy in 2009 when the final against Brazil ended goalless after extra time.
He went on to make 76 appearances for the Black Stars scoring 11 goals.
Agyemang Badu last featured for Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League and is still looking to join a new club before the season begins.
