In a spectacular finale that brought months of competition to an exciting close, Akosua Arhin was crowned Miss Malaika Ghana 2025 at the National Theatre on Saturday, November 22.
The 20-year-old University of Ghana student outshined nine other finalists to claim the coveted title, driving home a brand-new car, a scholarship package, and the official ambassadorship role for the Miss Malaika brand.
This year’s event, themed “Defining the Future,” drew a packed auditorium and delivered a vibrant mix of Ghanaian culture, intellectual conversations, and high-fashion showcases.
The 2025 edition was especially notable for the academic strength and social impact focus of its finalists.
The grand finale featured three major assessment rounds:
• Cultural Display & Introduction: Contestants highlighted Ghana’s cultural heritage through traditional attire, symbolism, and dance.
• Rhetoric & Intellectual Round: The top five finalists answered development-focused questions, displaying depth, confidence, and policy awareness.
• Final Q&A (Top 3): The last three contestants outlined their vision for the Miss Malaika brand and their proposed advocacy projects.
Akosua’s exceptional poise and eloquence stood out throughout the night, particularly her clear, solution-driven message on addressing youth unemployment in Ghana.
Her performance earned her the judges’ top score.
She walked away with a sleek 2025 model saloon car, a cash prize estimated at over GHS 20,000, and a full postgraduate scholarship.
Akosua’s winning project, the “4E Initiative: Empowering Youth Through Enterprise and Education,” gave her a strong competitive edge.
During the Intellectual Round, she cited data from the Ghana Statistical Service (2025 Q2), noting that while Ghana’s overall unemployment rate is around 13.4%, youth unemployment in urban areas rises above 25%.
Her 4E Initiative proposes establishing vocational and digital training hubs aimed at equipping 500 young women in Greater Accra and Ashanti with employable skills during her year of reign.
