…Promises The Victims Of Shattering Flight For Them

New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2024 Parliamentary Candidate (MP) for Ayawaso North constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Ibrahim Sannie
who took USD 12,000 from two persons under the pretext of securing USA visas for them but failed, would soon been dragged to the Director of the Ghana Police Service’s Criminal Investigative Department and Disciplinary Committee of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to reports, Mr. Sannie is accused of receiving USD12,000 from two young Ghanaians in the persons of Blessed Atta Amponsah and Augustine Osei, under the premise of facilitating United States visas for employment opportunities abroad and also shatter flight for them to the US.

However, the NPP PC failed to fulfill his part of the deal after receiving the money for the past two years and making flimsy excuses which has angered the financiers of the victims to demand to refund of the USD12,000 from Mr Sannie.

The Financier of the two persons, Madam
Abena Ahenkan through her husband Nana Kweku Duah, had a contract with Alhaji Ibrahim Sannie to secure documents for Osei Augustine and Blessed Amponsah to travel to the USA on July 10 2022 for a one month period with a sum of UDS 6,000 each, totalling USD 12,000.

However, per the term and condition of the contractual agreement, Mr Sannie promised to secure the visas and travel documents for Osei Augustine and Blessed Amponsah within a month period for them two to travel to the USA but since July 10, 2022 till date, he couldn’t get them the visas.

This news outlet was reliably informed that
when the money of UDS 12, 000 was demanded after it was cleared that Mr Sannie is a fraudster, the money wasn’t forth coming leading to these distraught young Ghanaians having series of problems including losing of their precious jobs at the hospitality industry.

Further investigations have revealed that when the financier requested a refund, Mr Sannie still muster courage to promise to aid the two obtain the visas and failed to fund the USA$12,000 to the financier of the two victims.

“I am at home on August 12, 2022 when l had a call from Mr Sannie indicating to me that Osei Augustine and Blessed Amponsah have been booked to be travelled to USA so l should bring the remaining balance of UDS 3000 after l have already paid USD 9000 to Mr Sannie, making a total of USD12,000.

“So quickly Mr Sannie came to my house and l gave him the UDS 3000 of balance that day but the NPP PC could not processed the two persons to travel. However in few days later, in same August 2022, Mr Sannie has also informed me to provide Osei Augustine and Blessed Amponsah with food items because the two have been cleared to trave. So I did that but no show from Mr Sannie for the past two years now.

And for the past two years, these are the same stories Mr Sannie was given to me and my husband who had agreement with Mr Sannie to help Osei Augustine and Blessed Amponsah to travel to the USA.

“Any time l have confronted Mr Sannie and demanded that Mr Sannie should refund the money of USA$12,000 we have paid to him since he couldn’t help my people to secure the visas to travel for past two years, the NPP Parliamentary candidate would be given me the flimsy excuses.

“He would reassured me that he has already bought the flight tickets for Osei Augustine and Blessed Amponsahand that very soon they would be going. All the times these are empty promises he had been making to me. Even Mr Sannie personally came to our house in East Legon in Accra in two occasions to reassure me that arrangements were done for my people to travel. But still my people were in Ghana. And the NPP Parliamentary candidate still tossing us.

“We have been waiting patiently for the deal to go through it has now been over two years. We are saying that we are now sick and fed up so now we need our money to be refunded by Mr Sannie as soon as possible,” Nana Kwaku Duah and Madam Abena Ahenkan told this news outlet in an interview.

What was very painful, according to the victims and their financier, was that although the NPP Parliamentary hopeful has failed to secure them the visas to travel, Mr Sannie managed to secure visa for his sister who has successfully travelled to Canada in July this year 2024, to seek a greener pasture.

Further information available to this news outlet indicates that Blessed Atta Amponsah and Augustine Osei were not the only persons Mr Sannie has collected money to aid them obtain the visas and travel documents.

But Mr Sannie was reported to have allegedly defrauded many unsuspecting Ghanaians, particularly the desperate Zongo youth of their hard earn monies on the pretext of securing them visas.

Some of the victims, according to information available to this news outlet have resorted to the use the means of court to seek for their refund of the monies from Mr Sannie.

Mr Sannie allegedly uses the name of the NPP government as a conduit to defraud unsuspecting Ghanaians of their monies on the guise of securing them visas to seek greener pastures outside of Ghana.

However, the fraudulent activities of Mr Sannie had argued some members amd supporters of the NPP who had called on national executives of the party to investigate their PC and give the appropriate sanctions he deserves over allegations of using the name of the NPP to perpetuate his alleged fraudulent activities.

According to the members, the issue is not
only affecting the fortune of the party in the constituency but also affecting the party’s chances of getting more votes in Zongo communities within the constituency.

They expressed worry over how the national regional and constituency executives have kept quite over the issue and have refused to take disciplinary action against Mr Sannie amd clear the name of the NPP government from his fraudulent activities.

They pointed out that per the constitution of the NPP, it is clearly stated that a candidate with a criminal charges or records wouldn’t be allowed to contest position on the ticket of the ruling party.

But it seems like the National Executives of the NPP are silence on the law and regulations allowing Mr Sannie to still 2024 parliamentary candidate election on ticket of the NPP.

They noted that it is known fact that Mr Sannie is deeply involved in visa scan and that a number NPP activists and Zongo youth have been victims.

They pointed out that the visas fraud issue of Mr Sannie has gained grounds and it is affecting the campaign of the NPP in the Ayawaso North constituency as the members and supporters of the NDC are using the fraud against the NPP.

When contacted to get his side of the story, Mr Sannie has admitted of collecting an amount of USA$12,000.00 from the victims through Nana Kwaku Duah and Madam Abena Ahenkan to secure them visas to seek greener pastures outside of Ghana.

According to him, the two were not the only persons who have been delayed to travel to USA for the past two years but many applicants were affected because of the challenges he has encountered with his employers in the USA.

He said that he has made all the necessary arrangements and that it has left with the clearance processes for the people to go travel.

“There are new arrangements for the applicants to travel abroad but if his new arrangements failed again then it means that he has to make arrangement to refund their money and called on the victims and their financiers to remain calm.

But in quick response, Madam Ahenka stated that they had realised that Mr Sannie has what it takes to help Blessed Atta Amponsah and Augustine Osei to secure the travel documents.

“Our investigations have revealed that Mr Sannie has defrauded us hence our current decision to demand the refund of USD12,000 to us for the peace to prevail,” Madam Ahenka stressed.
