Andre and myself still have more years to give Black Stars – Jordan Ayew

Despite their ages and longevity with the national team, Ghana forward Jordan Ayew believes he and his brother Andre Ayew, who is also the team’s captain, have more to offer the Black Stars.

Currently, the pair are the active players holding the most senior national team appearances for Ghana, with Andre Ayew having 114 and Jordan Ayew appearing 90 times.

They are also unfavourable in terms of age, as they are both in their thirties, but they have been consistent performers for the national team, appearing in nearly every match for many years.

The brothers have been scolded multiple times for their recent performances, with many demanding their expulsion from the team to pave the way for other youngsters to establish themselves.

Jordan Ayew, on the other hand, believes their ages are irrelevant because they are both fit to deliver for many more years.

“It’s like a kid’s dream come true. We’ll enjoy it, it’s not going to last forever but we are enjoying it and know that we still have more years,” Jordan said to GTV Sports.

“It’s always a pleasure to play alongside my brother,” he added.

Jordan, Ghana’s all-time leading scorer in the English Premier League, will turn 32 in September, while Andre, who recently made 100 appearances in the same competition, nears his 34th birthday.

Andre and Jordan have not only played for Ghana together, but they also shared a dressing room in Olympic Marseille and Swansea City in the past
