Black Princesses assistant coach Anita Wiredu-Mintah is thrilled to be part of the Ghanaian team at this year’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
Anita Wiredu-Mintah played a crucial role in the Black Princesses’ qualification for the tournament, and she will be taking on a new role as an assistant coach.
This will not be Anita Wiredu-Mintah’s first time at the World Cup. In 2018, she served as the team’s welfare officer in France. However, this time around, she will be more involved in the technical aspects of the game.
“The Black Princesses have qualified to the U-20 World Cup in Colombia and this time I will be there as an assistant coach. It is more exciting this time around because the first time in France 2018, I was the welfare officer and not really involved in the technical aspect of the game but as an assistant coach, you’re practically involved on the field by giving tactical advice so I feel very much involved,” Anita Wiredu-Mintah said in an interview with GFA Communications.
“The players will play your mind and whatever you’ve impacted in them so in a way, they are playing your thoughts on the field so I feel like I’m on the pitch through the players.” she added.
