Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson has disclosed that Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has been given the green light to negotiate a potential move from Bristol City to Bournemouth in the English Premier League.
The player has been in excellent form for the Championship side this season, scoring seven goals and giving two assists, and has aroused the interest of a number of teams, including Bournemouth, who are apparently leading the race for the 23-year-old.
Nigel Pearson confirmed that the player has been permitted to talk with the Premier League team and is permitted to undergo medicals at the club if a deal is reached.
“Semenyo has been given permission to speak to Bournemouth and there will be an opportunity for medical. That’s where we are with that and no real further comments on that at the moments,” Pearson said.
He also stated that the only thing remaining for the transaction to be completed are successful medicals and personal conditions between Semenyo and his possible new club Bournemouth, since a transfer fee has already been agreed upon.
“The most important fact to recognize at the moment is a fee has been agreed between the two clubs so now there are other factors to wait to see; one being a medical and one being agreeing personal terms,” he added.
Semenyo will be expected to help Bournemouth survive relegation as they lie 18th in the Premier League standings.
