American singer and actress Ariana Grande has announced that she will take a break from public appearances after completing her Eternal Sunshine Tour, citing the impact of ongoing public scrutiny.

The singer and actor has also withdrawn from the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George, where she was scheduled to perform alongside Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey.

In a statement, Grande’s representative said the star was looking forward to finishing the tour “on a high note” before taking a “much-deserved break” from public-facing work. They added that the tour had been a “beautiful experience” and that Grande had enjoyed connecting with her fans.

Grande, who rose to fame as a child actor through shows including Victorious and Sam & Cat, has recently gained renewed attention for her role in the Wicked film series. The announcement comes amid increased fan concern over her health following the release of her music video for Petal, in which some viewers commented on her appearance.
