Popular rappers Kwaw Kese, Pappy Kojo and M.anifest are among some of the celebrities who joined protesters for the final day of the #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration in Accra on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
The 3-day demonstration against the high cost of living, leadership failure in resolving economic challenges, poor road infrastructure (#FixTheMotorWay), galamsey, corruption and greed began on Thursday, September 21, where 49 of the protesters were arrested by the police.
On Friday, September 22, celebrities including E.L., Efia Odo, Kelvyn Boy, and John Dumelo joined the protesters on the second day.
In a video which has really gone viral, celebrities such as famous rappers Kwaw Kese, M.nifest, Pappy Kojo and others who joined the protesters at the 37 Trotro Station on the final day are seen singing and chanting ‘’Arise Ghana Youth For Your Country”.
Rapper D-Black was seen among the protesters earlier in the morning. During an interview with Citi News, the ”Seihor” rapper stated that he participated in the demonstration as a Ghanaian citizen, not as a celebrity, and that the government has let down the youth.
