Asante Kotoko stand-in coach Diogo Peral could face disciplinary action from the Ghana Football Association after being sent off for punching Medeama defender Eben Adade during Sunday’s Ghana Premier League clash at the Baba Yara Stadium. The Portuguese coach was involved in a heated touchline incident after Adade, the left-back of the defending champions, rushed to retrieve a ball that had gone out of play near Kotoko’s technical area.In the ensuing confrontation, Adade pushed Peral to the ground, prompting the Kotoko coach to get back to his feet and retaliate with a punch to the defender’s face. The referee showed Peral a straight red card for his action, leaving Kotoko to contend with the aftermath of the touchline altercation.Despite the setback, the Porcupine Warriors fought back to secure a 1-1 draw against the Tarkwa-based side.Peral now faces the prospect of further punishment from the GFA, with the incident likely to come under the scrutiny of the disciplinary authorities.
