Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed enthusiasm for attending Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Concert in Kumasi this September, following a courtesy visit by the rapper to seek his blessings at Manhyia Palace.
During the visit on July 18, Sarkodie, accompanied by his management team, including Angel Town and Nabil Alhassan, informed the Asantehene about the upcoming concert at Baba Yara Sports Stadium on September 27, 2025, marking its second time in Kumasi.
Otumfuo, noting his restricted public appearances, expressed his desire to attend, saying, “They don’t allow me to go out often, but this one, I will like to attend and watch the event myself.”
He advised Sarkodie to remain humble, avoid unhealthy competition, and urged his team to stay united to protect the rapper’s brand.
The Rapperholic Concert, a major Ghanaian music event typically held in Accra, is expected to draw thousands, boosting Kumasi’s cultural scene.
The Asantehene’s endorsement and potential attendance highlight the concert’s significance, with fans eagerly anticipating the event despite concerns about the stadium’s pitch readiness for upcoming football matches.
