Bayer Leverkusen have secured the future of highly-rated 18-year-old Ghanaian winger Clinton Edem Wilson, awarding him his first professional contract.

The Accra-born forward returns to the Leverkusen fold after a successful spell with FC Schalke 04, where he scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists in 24 appearances for the U19 team.

Wilson originally joined Leverkusen’s youth academy after impressing during trials.
Sporting Director Kim Falkenberg praised the young winger’s attributes, highlighting his pace, agility, and strong 1v1 ability as key qualities that stood out.

The skillful youngster’s journey began in Ghana with Nima City FC and Pro Players Football Academy before moving to Germany to play youth tournaments for FC Eichsfeld. He has also represented Ghana at the U15 national team level.

The signing marks another important milestone for the talented teenager, who now looks to climb the ranks at one of Germany’s most progressive clubs and chase his dream of breaking into the senior team.
