Head coach of the Black Starlets of Ghana, Laryea Kingston commended his team’s fighting spirit on Tuesday after their win over Benin in the ongoing WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.
The Ghana male U17 side scored twice today in a game played at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium to take all three points from the opponent.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Coach Laryea Kingston said although many expected the match to be easy, it was in fact a tough contest.
“This game was very difficult for us. People thought it will be a walk in the park but it wasn’t. It was a very difficult match. We were very lucky that we saw their game against Ivory Coast. So that gave us advantage to see what they are bringing on board.
“There are a lot of good teams at this tournament,” Coach Laryea Kingston said.
The win over Benin on Tuesday has sent the Ghana Black Starlets to the semi-finals of the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship.
