Players of Hearts of Oak reportedly boycotted training over unpaid salaries and bonuses ahead of their final Ghana Premier League game of the season against champions Medeama SC.
According to reports from Kumasi-based Luv FM, the Phobians players refused to train until outstanding financial issues owed to them by the club were addressed.
The development comes at a crucial stage of the season with the Rainbow Club currently occupying third place on the Ghana Premier League table with one game left to play.
However, the latest update indicates that Black Stars goalkeeper and club captain Benjamin Asare stepped in to calm the situation despite currently being away in Mexico with the Black Stars for a pre-World Cup friendly
Following his intervention, the players reportedly agreed to resume training on Tuesday at the club’s Kpobiman training complex as preparations continue for the crucial encounter against Medeama.
