
Bibiani GoldStars FC have officially announced the signing of former Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.The Miners have secured the services of the 27-year-old forward on a one-year contract as they look to bolster their attacking options for the new campaign.GoldStars unveiled Opoku on Sunday, officially welcoming the experienced striker to the club.WELCOME TO THE MINERS, KWAME OPOKU! Welcome to Bibiani GoldStars! , the club announced.Opoku joins the former Ghana Premier League champions after bringing an end to his second spell with Kotoko.Opoku returned to the Porcupine Warriors on a two-and-a-half-year contract following spells with Algerian giants USM Alger and Moroccan side Olympique Khouribga.He initially made his mark at Kotoko during the 2020/21 season, scoring six goals and providing three assists in 16 appearances.His second spell did not produce the expected impact, with injuries hampering his progress and limiting his contribution to the team.GoldStars will be counting on Opoku’s experience and goalscoring ability as they seek another successful campaign in the Ghanaian top flight.The Miners will also hope that the forward can rediscover his best form and help them compete strongly for honours during the 2026/27 season.
