Attend Nature S Call

Source: Acquah Anthony, Western North Region

Residents at Old Compound a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality of the Western North region have lamented over the absence of a toilet facility, a challenge they have been facing for many years.

It takes them a long distance to trek and attend nature’s call. According to the residents, people who have walking difficulties, including senior citizens and children, ‘do a number two’ in black polyethylene bags and throw them away recklessly. This unhygienic practice could lead to disease outbreaks in the community.

The Assembly member for the Compound Electoral area, Seth Assan, said that for the past eight years, the people at the old compound still live without access to a toilet facility.

He lamented that they walk more than fifteen minutes before discharging their solid bodily waste.

The community appealed to the government through several letters but has yet to hear from the powers that be.

He seized the opportunity to appeal to the authorities and philanthropists to listen to their plight and come to their aid to fast-track the completion of the compound’s sanitary facility.
