Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has urged his players to be more creative in the final third following Ghana’s goalless draw with Tanzania in a pre-2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) international friendly.
The Black Queens dominated possession for much of Monday’s encounter in Casablanca and created several promising opportunities but were unable to find a breakthrough against a resolute Tanzanian defence.
Speaking after the match, the Swedish tactician praised his side’s defensive organization but admitted improvements are needed in attack before the tournament begins.
“I think it was a decent first half. Good defense. I wish we had created a few more chances,” Bjorkegren said, adding that Ghana looked more dangerous after the break by finding attacking spaces more often.
Despite controlling large portions of the contest, the Black Queens lacked the cutting edge to convert their dominance into goals.
The friendly provided another valuable test as Ghana’s technical team continues fine-tuning tactics and preparations ahead of the 2026 WAFCON.
