Black Satellites head coach Maxwell Konadu has turned his attention to Ghana’s final Group B match against Togo after his side were held to a 1-1 draw by Burkina Faso at the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship.The result leaves Ghana with one point from two matches following their opening defeat to Nigeria, making the clash with Togo a crucial opportunity to end the tournament on a positive note.Despite the disappointment of not claiming all three points, Konadu praised his players’ commitment and believes they produced one of their best performances of the competition.”We did our best. We played better and should have carried the day, but that is football. We will accept it and think about the next game against Togo,” he said.The Ghana coach admitted an early red card forced his team to abandon its original game plan but commended the players for adapting to the circumstances.”We needed to change the system. We switched from a 4-3-3 to a 3-5-1, and that created a lot of scoring opportunities for us.”Konadu felt his side deserved more after creating numerous chances following Joseph Badu’s equaliser.”Our strikers did everything possible and the midfielders worked extremely hard, but the second goal just couldn’t come. We equalised when we were on top of the game, and that was the moment we should have killed the game.”Konadu also highlighted the impact of his substitutes, saying they executed the tactical plan despite Ghana playing with 10 men.”The boys never gave up. They came on, created chances and kept pushing, but the ball just wouldn’t go into the net.”With Ghana already guaranteed a place at the 2027 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations as hosts, Konadu said the objective remains to continue building the team while finishing the WAFU B Championship strongly.”We are preparing for the AFCON itself, but we want to win. We just have to win at least one game before we leave here.”
