Ghana have been drawn in Group B of the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship alongside Nigeria, Togo and Burkina Faso.
The regional tournament is scheduled to kick off on July 26 and will bring together some of West Africa’s top youth teams as they battle for honours.
The Black Satellites face a challenging group, with seven-time African champions Nigeria expected to provide stiff competition, while Togo and Burkina Faso will also be aiming to progress to the knockout stage.
Although Ghana will compete for the WAFU B title, the Black Satellites have already secured qualification for the 2027 Africa U20 Cup of Nations by virtue of hosting the continental tournament.
The competition will nevertheless provide an important platform for the technical team to assess the squad and continue preparations ahead of the U20 AFCON on home soil.
Ghana will be hoping to make a strong impression at the WAFU B Championship as they continue building a team capable of challenging for continental success next year.
