Reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif, has opened up about why he only featured Burna Boy on his debut album, “The Villain I Never Was.”
In an interview with CNN, Black Sherif explained that he had initially planned to feature other artists on his album, but that he ultimately decided to go solo because he had a lot to say and wanted to tell his story in his own words
When asked about the influence of Burna Boy on his album, Black Sherif stated that his first interaction with him was not about music, but that the Grammy-award-winning Nigerian artist appreciated his art and made him feel different about himself.
The ‘Kweku The Traveller’ hitmaker currently leads the pack as the Ghanaian artiste with the most nominations at the first-ever Trace Awards 2023.
He is up for Best Artist Africa – Anglophone, and Best Collaboration for his remix of “Second Sermon” featuring Grammy-award-winning Nigerian artiste Burna Boy.
He has won several awards and has the bragging right as the reigning Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year
