Ghana head coach Chris Hughton has included France-based defender Nicholas Opoku in his 24-man squad for the 2024 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar.
Opoku, 25, has been regular for Amiens in the Ligue 2 in France where he has started 33 games and completed 29 with an assist to back.
The former Udinese Calcio central defender was handed a call-up into the Ghana squad when the Black Stars played against Angola in March. He warmed the bench in the encounter that ended up 1-1 at the Estadio 11 a Novembro in Luanda.
He is expected to compete for a starting place in central defense alongside Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey, Joseph Aidoo, and Alexander Djiku.
