Players of Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, will each receive an appearance fee of $100,000 for participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to Sports Minister Kofi Adams.
The announcement comes as Ghana intensifies preparations for the global tournament, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The incentive is expected to serve as a major boost for the players as they aim to make a strong impression on the world stage.
The appearance fee reflects the government’s commitment to supporting the national team and rewarding players for their efforts in securing qualification for football’s biggest tournament.
The Black Stars, four-time African champions, will be hoping to improve on their previous World Cup performances and make a significant impact at the expanded 48-team competition.
Further details regarding player bonuses and the team’s preparations are expected to be announced in the coming weeks as Ghana finalizes plans for the tournament scheduled to begin in June 2026.
