Black Queens defender Blessing Shine Agbomadzi has reflected on her journey from Yeji in the former Brong Ahafo Region to becoming a key member of Ghana’s senior women’s national team.
Speaking in an interview with The Mirror, the 25-year-old said football was her only career ambition growing up and that representing her Pentecost Junior High School team marked the beginning of her rise in the sport.
Agbomadzi said a move to Kumasi Sports Academy during her teenage years proved pivotal, helping her develop into one of Ghana’s top defenders over the past decade at both club and international level.
The centre-back highlighted her strengths as physicality, intelligence, tactical awareness and composure on the ball. She also described herself as an aggressive defender with strong aerial ability, quick tackling and excellent positioning.
Agbomadzi added that her confidence in possession allows her to build attacks from defence and deliver accurate long passes after winning back the ball.
