The management of Bolgatanga Technical University says it has not denied Professor Samuel E. Alnaa and two others access to their offices, describing media reports suggesting otherwise as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Thursday, October 22, 2026, the university said it had appealed against a court ruling in favour of the three individuals and had also filed a motion for a stay of execution.

Management said the appeal and motion were part of ongoing legal proceedings and cited Rule 27(2) of C.I. 19 in explaining its position on the implementation of the ruling.

It rejected allegations that the university was deliberately denying the three individuals access to their offices or defying the court.

The University therefore urges all media organizations, Prof. Samuel E. Alnaa and the individuals concerned, and the general publics to exercise restraint, verify information before publication, and avoid statements that could misrepresent the University’s position or prejudice the ongoing legal process.

The university said it remained committed to the rule of law and resolving the matter through established judicial processes.

“If Prof. Alnaa and the others affected individuals believe that the University’s actions amount to contempt of court, the appropriate course is to seek the necessary clarification and relief from the court with jurisdiction over the matter.” The statement added.

Management calls on all parties to allow the judicial process to run its full course and to refrain from actions or statements that could prejudice the on-going judicial process.
