Black Stars forward Brandon Thomas-Asante returned from suspension to help Coventry City secure a 2-0 away victory over West Bromwich Albion in the EFL Championship on Sunday.

The Ghana international had missed three consecutive matches after serving a suspension for violent conduct but made his comeback as a 78th-minute substitute. Coventry’s victory marked their first away league win since November and extended their lead at the top of the standings to three points.

Facing his former club, Thomas-Asante delivered a disciplined cameo, winning both ground duels he contested and completing his only tackle. In attack, he made three carries, two of which were progressive, as Coventry saw out the win.

The 27-year-old has shown significant improvement this season after a challenging debut campaign following his move from West Brom. He has now registered 10 goals and four assists in 21 league appearances.

Coventry will look to maintain their momentum when they travel to face Sheffield United on Wednesday, February 25.
