Keynote speaker Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo has urged participants at the 2026 TrueLife Experience to move beyond drawing inspiration from others and develop the competence needed to inspire and influence people through their own work.
Speaking at the event at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, she highlighted the importance of building human competence, particularly in critical thinking, communication, public speaking and relationship-building.
“You have to build the competence before you transform,” she said.
Ms Kwaku-Dosoo challenged participants to shift their focus from celebrating the achievements of others to developing themselves into people whose lives and work can inspire others.
She said personal transformation required more than motivation, stressing that individuals must deliberately invest in the skills and abilities needed to achieve their goals.
She identified critical thinking, effective communication, public speaking and relationship-building as important competencies for personal and professional growth.
“You have to build the competence before you transform,” she reiterated.
The 2026 TrueLife Experience is a two-day event bringing together business executives, entrepreneurs, policymakers, professionals and emerging leaders to discuss courage, personal development and purposeful action.
Other speakers at the event included business leader Sir Sam Jonah, mindset mentor Nekeya Parks and Edward Effah, founder of Fidelity Group.
