Ghana’s Bulsa Traditional Council has expressed profound grief over the helicopter crash that killed two cabinet ministers and six other prominent citizens, calling it a “devastating national loss.”

In a statement signed by Paramount Chief Nab Azagsuk Azantilow II, the council extended condolences to President John Mahama, the government, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), noting some victims served under the ruling party’s banner.

“The departed were patriots who dedicated their lives to Ghana,” the statement read. “Their absence will be deeply felt, and their legacies honored with reverence.” The council paid special tribute to Squadron Leader Peter Abaafemi Anala, an “illustrious son” of Builsa land, emphasizing his death resonates as both a local and national tragedy.

Addressing bereaved families, the leaders urged courage amid sorrow: “Take solace in their selfless service to our nation.” They called for unity and resilience, praying for peaceful rest for the victims while rallying Ghanaians to stand together in solidarity. The council’s message underscored how the tragedy has unified communities across political and regional lines.
