British singer Ed Sheeran has revealed that Afrobeats star Burna Boy is the heaviest weed smoker he’s ever seen.
In a recent interview on the Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend podcast, Sheeran shared a story about how Burna Boy once visited his studio and smoked so much weed that Sheeran nearly missed his performance that night.
“There is an artist I have worked quite a lot with called Burna Boy,” Sheeran said. “I would say that is the most I have ever seen anyone ingest weed. And I worked, as I said 10 to 5, and he came to the studio. I had a gig later that night.
And it was very much like the studio door was closed and it was just smoke smoke smoke. I remember I was going to say to the gig I do not know. Same thing like I am not it.”
Sheeran also shared a story about the first time he smoked weed with American rapper Snoop Dogg. Sheeran said that Snoop Dogg gave him a wrap of smoke to puff, and he nearly went blind.
Despite their love of weed, Sheeran and Burna Boy have managed to collaborate on some hit songs in recent years.
In 2019, Burna Boy was featured on the song “Own It” by British rapper Stormzy, which also featured Sheeran. And in 2021, Sheeran appeared on the song “For My Hand” from Burna Boy’s sixth album, Love, Damini.
In 2020, Sheeran opened up about his struggle with unhealthy dietary habits, including binge drinking and eating.
However, it seems that he has since found a more balanced approach to life, and he continues to make great music with artists from all over the world.
