The head coach of FC Samartex, Nurudeen Amadu is confident his side can advance to the final round in the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League by overcoming Raja Casablanca.

The Ghanaian champions on Sunday hosted the team from Morocco in the first leg of their tie in the second round.

In a game played at the Accra Sports Stadium, both teams played well and settled for a 2-1 draw.

Speaking in a post-match interview, FC Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu was impressed that his team gave the opponent a tough match.

He, however, rued missed chances.

“I’m not a happy person but I think we didn’t disgrace ourselves. It’s like the equalizer during the second half we just dished it out to them and we didn’t defend well in that situation. We were wasteful in front of goal and that cost us,” coach Nurudeen Amadu said.

Ahead of the reverse fixture in Morocco next weekend, the FC Samartex coach is aiming for a good performance from his lads to stun Raja Casablanca.

“We are aware when you make minor mistakes they punish you for it. Now we are going to fight because I have seen how they play and so I will also see how to strategize to go there. We will see how we will be resilient and so that we can go and fight them there,” Coach Nurudeen Amadu said.
