
The President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, has extended condolences to Berekum Chelsea following the tragic death of winger Dominic Frimpong in a reported armed robbery attack.The 20-year-old lost his life when the team bus was attacked while returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture, in an incident that has shocked the football community.In an official letter addressed to Ghana Football Association president Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, Dr Motsepe expressed deep sorrow over the loss.It is with profound sadness that I learned of the armed robbery attack on the bus of Berekum Chelsea, returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture, which claimed the life of a 20-year-old winger Dominic Frimpong, he said.The CAF president extended sympathies on behalf of himself and the continental body to the players family, friends and teammates, as well as the Ghana Football Association.Please pass my personal and CAFs deepest condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Dominic Frimpong and to the Ghana Football Association, he added.Motsepe also offered prayers and support to the bereaved and the wider football community, assuring them of CAFs solidarity during the difficult period.Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association remains in contact with Berekum Chelsea and relevant authorities, including the Ghana Police Service, as investigations continue.Calls have also been made for swift action to ensure those responsible for the attack are brought to justice.
