Tomorrow August 31, 2024, two major events will take place in the Prampram Traditional Area, Prampram to be specific. The first is a grand durbar to wrap up the 2024 edition of the Homowo festival celebrations, which has so far witnessed remarkable improvement from the previous years, especially last year.

The durbar, which is expected to be attended by chiefs, diplomats, politicians and personnel from various professional background, is expected to be graced by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. For nearly three decades since the last durbar was held in 1995, tomorrow’s event will be the first time.

Nene Tetteh Afutu III, Chief of Afienya and a prominent member of the Prampram Traditional Council, told popular YouTube channel PramcitiTV, the durbar has been on the table for years but due to the then existing unresolved issues within certain quarters in the traditional area, the idea for a durbar did not receive any positive approval from some of the disputing factions.

However, and after lots of work behind the scenes for the disputing factions to sit and talk for the good of the town’s progress, and under the leadership of Nene Tetteh Wakah III, Paramount Chief of the Prampram Traditional Area, the durbar is expected to attract hundreds of guests from all over the country, not only natives from the traditional area.

Nene Wakah III is expected to sit in state and receive homage from the various traditional leaders and other dignitaries. Traditional leaders from all the enclave within the traditional area, are expected to be present for the event. The impending durbar is coming at a time when various enstoolments had been done by some of the homes.

The town recently enstooled entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist, John Teye Nartey, Chief Executive of Joe Nartey Construction, as the first Youth Chief with the stool name, Nene Teye Nartey I. Prior to his enstoolment, the people of Kley, one of the four quarters making up Prampram also enstooled Nene Ayiku Obleh Adebontenya IV as Dvisional Chief.

Just a week ago, the elders of Anomansa family of Lakple, lower Prampram, outdoored a new Asafoatse by the stool name, Tetteh Osraban IV, a Doctor of Pharmacy with over a decade of professional experience. All those enstooled are expected to play significant roles in the overall jurisdiction of the town, by assisting the paramountcy with their expertise.

Later in the evening, the annual PramFest music festival will come off in style. Unlike the previous years where the venue had been at the forecourt of V-Pub, this time around the even has been moved to a spacious venue with better ambience and security for patrons.

On the Mandela Road opposite W.O. Bakery, the event will take place at the now christeneed PramFEST Park, and it will be headlined by Raph Enzee with support from former Ghana Music Artist of the Year, Sarkodie. The latter does not need any attraction and his presence is expected to lift add color and verve to the annual event, which has become a permanent fixture in the Homowo celebrations in Prampram.  Raph Enzee is a no stranger to the Ghanaian rap scene. He portfolio of artistic works sit head to head with his contemporaries.

Enze and his team have been working behind the scenes, to push prampram up the scale, and in the right dirdction. A man of few words, he is also a man of his word, when it comes to leveraging on his artistic skill and contacts. And to bring the rap lord King Sark to the soil of Prampram, for an unforgettable night of good energy, is a testament to the heights he wants to take PramFEST to.  For Enzee, PramFest is a legacy project for the now and the future.
