Champions Ampem Darkoa were stunned by Supreme Ladies on Matchday 14 of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League at the Ohene Ameyaw Park. The League leaders went into the game looking to extend their lead atop the Northern Zone table but faltered to their rivals at home. Supreme Ladies took the lead in the 48th minute through Patience Berchie Afriyie after a goalless first half but the League’s top goal scorer, Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah equalised for Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the 67th minute bringing her season tally to 13 goals.

The equalizer lasted a few minutes as Patience Berchie Afriyie scored her second of the day in the 75th minute to restore her team’s lead. The host made substitutions in their quest to get back on level pegging but that didn’t yield the desired result as Supreme Ladies held on to win 2:1 in Techiman.

Debutants Fosu Royal Ladies recorded an impressive 3-0 win over Kumasi Sports Academy at the Bantama Astro Turf to boost their chances of survival. Sharifa Saliu opened the scoring for the visitors with a swift counter attacking football that unsettled the hosts. Patricia Agyei added to the tally to give Fosu Royals a 2-0 lead at the break. Patricia Agyei added to the misery with a calm finish for her second of the day – to hand her side all the spoils against Kumasi Sports Academy.

Relegation threatened Pearl Pia Ladies came from a goal down to beat Ashtown Ladies 2-1 in the relegation battle fixture in Tamale. Alimatu Mbamba and Miriam Dzehu scored in either half to give the home side all the points in Tamale. Comfort Baah Nuako opened the scoring for the visitors but substitute Alimatu Mbamba equalized for Pearlpia Ladies before Miriam Dzehu scored the winner in the 79th minute.
